About
The first-ever real vs. virtual F1 race at the iconic Silverstone Circuit with the help of
artificial intelligence, augmented reality, machine learning, and live GPS data.
I developed the helmet AR software, tracking communication software, desktop monitoring applicaiton and remote testing software for this project with help from Adam Smith.
development
We made the helmet AR software and the desktop monitoring application in Unity. Special shout out to the folks at RaceLogic who provided us the best in class GPS tracking device. I worked with them to create a node server to pass around the tracking data between the desktop and helmet AR software. Since we only have limited time on Silverstone track, the majority of the tests for tracking accuracy and AI data playback are conducted in New York. I developed a Houdini Engine asset to place track scale markers using Cesium so that we can superimpose Silverstone track anywhere in the world.
